Charalambos G. Prountzos

Partner | Law Practice Leader

Charalambos was born in 1978. Educated at the University of Bristol from which he received an LLB in 2001. He continued his edu- cation and professional training at the Inns of Courts School of Law, London where he successfully completed the Bar Vocational Course and received the professional title of Barrister – at – Law. He is a Member of Gray’s Inn and was called to the Bar in 2003. He has also received a diploma in Professional Legal Skills from City University. He was admitted as a member of the Cyprus Bar Association in 2005 and started practicing in the same year. Charalambos is the Head of the Corporate and Commercial Department, the Financial Services Department, and Energy Law Department. He is also heavily involved in the international tax planning.

Constantinos Agathocleous

Constantinos was born in Nicosia. Educated in the University of Thrace where he received an LLB degree in Law. He is fluent in Greek and English languages, both written and spoken. He was admitted as a member of the Cyprus Bar Association in 2006 and started practicing in the same year. He joined our firm in April 2014 and is one of our firm's Senior Associates. He is heavily involved in a wide range of claims and disputes in respect of civil and commercial litigation including contract claims, labour law, competi- tion law, personal injury claims, insurance claims, road traffic accidents, banking and finance disputes, landlord and tenant dis- putes, debt collection, bankruptcy, disputes in family law, disputes in construction contracts and is actively engaged in defamation cases. Furthermore, he is involved in tender disputes before the Tender Review Authority and Appeals before the Supreme Court of Cyprus. Constantinos is further involved in various modes of alternative dispute resolution and is an "ADR Group Accredited Civil & Commercial Mediator" since 2014.

Dina Kanga

Dina was born in 1988. Educated in the United Kingdom at the Kingston University where she received an LLB degree in 2009, then proceeded in obtaining an LLM in Commercial and Corporate Law in 2010, from the Queen Mary University of London. She is fluent in Greek and English languages, both written and spoken. She was admitted as a member of the Cyprus Bar Association in 2011. She has joint our firm in April 2012 and she is currently employed as a Senior Associate. Dina heads our firm's Corporate department, and specializes in Company, Corporate and Commercial law, International Trusts, Shipping Law and is actively involved in the realm of Regulated Financial Services.

Constantinos Michael

Constantinos was born in 1987. He has graduated from the University of Manchester in 2011 where he obtained his Law L.L.B. and he shortly received his Master’s education in the same University, concentrating on the European Business law area (L.L.M. in EU Business Structures and Conflict of Laws). He is fluent in both Greek and English, and conversational in Italian. He is a member of the Cyprus Bar Association and he has been employed at the Firm since 2012. Constantinos is currently a Manager and is heavily involved in Commercial Law disputes, Intellectual Property and drafting of commercial and business contracts as well as Competition Law disputes and waste-management compliance procedures. He specializes on Energy Law, Shipping Law, Public Procurement Law, Intellectual Property and Regulated Financial Services. Furthermore, he is actively engaged in tender dis- putes before the Tender Review Authority and the Supreme Court of Cyprus.

Iacovos Kouppas

Iacovos completed his LLB (Honours) and his LLM in Corporate and Commercial Law (Distinction) from the London School of Economics & Social Sciences (LSE). He subsequently completed his legal training in Cyprus in 2010 and was admitted with commendation to the Cyprus Bar Association. Iacovos has worked for 7 years in the Corporate & Commercial department of another Big4 Law firm before joining Prountzos & Prountzos LLC, a regulated Cyprus law firm and a member firm of Ernst & Young Global Limited in 2017. He is currently a Manager in our Corporate Department and manages the team of lawyers involved with corporate and digital law related matters. Iacovos and his team are regularly involved and provide advice on corporate restructurings, M&A, both local and cross-border reorganisations, inbound and outbound re-domiciliations, setting up IP structures, setting up internal corporate governance systems, corporate litigation disputes as well as advice on and assistance with other aspects of the regulatory framework relevant to the corporate, commercial and industrial sectors both in Cyprus and the EU. Iacovos has also been leading the legal team advising clients in relation to the implementation of the new EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Iacovos is fluent in Greek and English.

Kyriacos Kourtellos

Kyriacos obtained an LLB from the University of Leicester in 2009. Following completion of the Bar Vocational Course at the College of Law in Birmingham, he was called to the Bar of England & Wales in 2010 by the Honourable Society of Lincolns Inn. Admitted to the Cyprus Bar Association in 2011 and awarded an LLM in Environmental Law from Queen Mary University of London in 2012. Joined our firm in April 2018 as its first lawyer based in Limassol. Extensive experience in corporate and commercial law, with particular expertise in energy and environmental matters. Advises high-net-worth individuals, private and family businesses, local and multinational financial institutions and corporations, across a broad range of sectors and industries, on high-profile, domestic and cross-border commercial, project finance, joint venture, merger and acquisition, real estate, and public-private partnership transactions. Deals extensively with corporate matters and applications at the District Courts of Cyprus as regards business structuring. Advises holding and trading companies, including major conglomerates, incorporated or trading in Cyprus. Undertakes due diligence and providing legal opinions on the corporate capacity of Cypriot entities and the legal validity and enforceability of Cyprus law documentation, and generally advising on all aspects of Cyprus law relevant to transactions. Publishes widely as author or co-author on the areas of corporate governance, energy law, environmental law, and financial regulation.

Demetris Kailis

Demetris was born in Nicosia and was educated at the Law school of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where he received his LL.B degree. He was admitted as a member of the Cyprus Bar Association in 2011 and he joined our Firm in January 2017. He is heavily involved in a wide range of litigation disputes, administration cases and civil claims as well as with commercial litigation issues including contract claims, labor law, personal injury claims, insurance claims, road traffic accidents, bankruptcy, banking and finance. He is also engaged in disputes before the Tender Review Authority and specializes on European Union Law. He is fluent in Greek and English, both written and spoken.

Stalo Kantara

Stalo was born in 1991. Educated in the United Kingdom at the Birmingham City University, she received an LLB degree in 2012. She is fluent in Greek and English languages, both written and spoken. She was admitted as a member of the Cyprus Bar Association in 2014. She has joined our firm in May 2016 and she is working as a junior lawyer in the Litigation Department. Stalo focuses, inter alia, on contractual disputes, personal injury and insurance claims, debt recovery and will and probate cases. Furthermore, she is actively engaged in family law disputes before the Family Court.

Marios Sofocleous

Marios was born in Larnaca. He obtained his Law Degree from the Aristotle University in Thessaloniki and was awarded with an LLM in International Commercial Law from the University of Kent, U.K. He is fluent both in Greek and English. He was admitted as a member of the Cyprus Bar Association in 2012 and he joined our firm in August 2017 as a Senior Associate. He is heavily involved in a wide range of claims and disputes in respect of civil and commercial litigation including torts, contract claims, injury and insurance claims, intellectual property, banking and finance and disputes related to landlord and tenancy agreements, bankruptcy, family law, recognition and enforcement of foreign judgements, arbitration and construction claims. He is experienced in advising and representing clients in a wide range of commercial disputes and contractual claims. His knowledge and expertise also extends on commercial agreements, merger and acquisition transactions, debt collection, drafting property sale agreements and any aspect related to land development.

Tania Tofaridou

Tania was born in 1994 in Nicosia. She graduated from the University of Southampton in 2015 where she obtained her LLB degree and later on she graduated from the University of Edinburgh where she obtained her Master’s in Human Rights Law. She is fluent in Greek and English languages, both written and spoken, and conversational in French. She joined our firm in September 2016 as a Trainee Lawyer in the Litigation Department, she was admitted to the Cyprus Bar Association in 2017 and she is currently employed to the Firm as a Lawyer. Tania mainly focuses on the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Sector. Amongst the areas of law she is involved are Administrative Law, Debt Collection, Labor and Employment Law and Civil Litigation.

George Hadjikyprianou

George graduated in Law (First class Honours) from the University of Leicester and obtained an LLM in Corporate Law (Distinction) from the University College London (UCL). He subsequently completed his legal training and was admitted with commendation to the Cyprus Bar Association. George has worked in the corporate & commercial department of a leading Cyprus law firm before joining Prountzos & Prountzos LLC. He is currently a Senior Associate in our Corporate Department and he is heavily involved with corporate, commercial, contract and employment law related matters and regularly advises on structuring financing transactions, mergers & acquisitions as well as on corporate and debt restructurings. He has also been an active member of the legal team advising clients in relation to the implementation of the new EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). He is the Vice President of the Cyprus Young Lawyers Association. He is also an associate member of the International Young Lawyers Association (AIJA) and the European Young Bar Association (EYBA) and a certified member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). George is fluent in Greek and English and conversational in French.

Evi Venizelou

Head of Accounting

Evi Venizelou was born in 1984. She will obtain shortly an Undergraduate Degree in Accounting from the University of Nicosia and she will join the Association of Chartered and Certified Accountants afterwards. She has worked for Sharelink Securities & Financial Services Limited since 2007 until early 2010, when she joined our firm. She is currently heading our Accounting Department.

Christiana was born in 1986. She studied Agricultural Development at the Democritus University of Thrace. She has worked previously as a secretary at a law firm since 2010 until 2015. Christiana joined our firm in January 2016 as a secretary and is involved in the general organization of the court Department.

Louiza Lambrianou

Paralegal - Law

Louiza was born in 1983. She is fluent in Greek and English language, both written and spoken. She has attended several courses for Marketing, Sales and Office Administration in Cyprus and abroad. She has worked as an Events & Conference organizer since 2006 until 2011 and as an office administrator since 2011 until today. Louiza joined our firm in June 2014 as a secretary and is involved in the general organisation of the office, as well as an assistant in banking and corporate management issues.

Lyudmyla Afrikanu

Administrator

Lyudmyla was born in Ukraine. Since 2008 she lives in Cyprus. She studied Psychology in the University of Zaporozhye in Ukraine. She is fluent in Russian, Ukrainian, English and Greek, both written and spoken. She joined our firm in October 2017 as a Receptionist. Lyudmyla manages our front desk and performs a variety of administrative tasks.
